    The printer uses WiFi, not a Cellular network (which is where 5G would be an issue.)

    Hi Dawn,

    The Star printer does not have Cellular network connectivity. In order to connect to your printer, you will need to be on a Wi-Fi network. We have no plans in the future to change this.

    I’m sorry there must be a misunderstanding. I’m quite aware I need Wi-Fi. However since I upgraded my Wi-Fi the printer hasn’t worked . I’ve been through all the setup processes with no resolutions. I’ve reset my router. I’ve reset the printer I’ve had support walk me through it. There have been no results! It’s been a long time. I’ve been a customer since March 2011
    I’ve barely used this wireless printer I was told I upgrade beyond the 2.4 ghz . Have there been any updates? I’m on Wi-Fi in a Small town in Southern Indiana I can’t believe I’ve out grown a wireless connection any longer. Sorry but I’m exhausted from excuses.

    Hi Dawn,

    I now understand your question. The Star Printer is not compatible with 5gHz networks. The older hardware doesn't support it. Thanks for explaining your situation better, but the Star Printer is only compatible with 2.4 gHz networks. Your router should be able to run 2.4 gHz and 5 gHz at the same time. To solve this problem, you will need to call your internet provider.
