Set Up PayPro Mini

PayPro Mini is a portable and standalone device, available only for US businesses, separate from the main PayPro unit that can also run Vagaro and process transactions. The camera on the back of the tablet can scan barcodes and QR codes without a barcode scanner, and you can optionally pair the Vagaro receipt printer (sold separately in the Vagaro Online Store) to PayPro Mini. An active Internet connection is required to use Vagaro and process credit card transactions.

Even if PayPro Mini is not paired with PayPro during the first onboarding, you can plug it in later to be paired with PayPro.

Prerequisites: This feature requires PayPro Mini and is available only in the US. An active Internet connection and Credit Card Processing are also required.

Note

Only the black version of PayPro is available for shipping from the Vagaro Online Store. PayPro Mini and the red edition of PayPro will be available in October 2024.

At present, PayPro Mini can only be connected to PayPro or used as a standalone device. You'll be able to connect PayPro Mini to a computer or laptop for checkout in the near future.

PayPro Mini Features

PayPro Mini eliminates the need for a barcode scanner by using the front and back cameras, and a credit card reader by using the credit card slot. If the tablet is away from the dock for an extended period, it can still be charged by plugging a USB-C cable into the USB-C port. The charging magnet on the back of the tablet ensures a secure connection between the tablet and the dock.

Step One: Build Your PayPro Mini

PayPro Mini includes the following hardware in the box:

  • PayPro Mini tablet

  • PayPro Mini dock

  • USB-C cable

  • AC adapter plug

To set up the PayPro Mini:

  1. Turn over the charging dock and plug the USB-C cable into the port.

  2. Plug the other end of the USB-C cable into the AC adapter plug.

  3. Plug the AC adapter into the power outlet.

  4. Turn the dock back over and place the tablet on to it.

Step Two: Run the Initial Setup Wizard

When you power your PayPro Mini device for the first time, the Vagaro Setup Wizard will guide you through the initial setup to ensure Vagaro Pro functions correctly.

To run the Vagaro Setup Wizard on PayPro Mini:

  1. Press and hold the power button on the device until it powers on.

  2. On the Welcome screen, select Start.

  3. Select a language, then Next.

  4. Select a timezone, then select Next.

  5. Select a Network, then select Next.

    1. If required, enter the network’s Password, then select Connect.

    2. After the device has connected to the network, select Next.

    The device will begin downloading and installing the latest version of Vagaro Pro.

    When the Setup Wizard is complete, the Welcome screen is displayed.

Step Three: Onboard PayPro Mini

To onboard PayPro Mini:

  1. Select Begin Onboarding.

  2. Select Just as a PayPro Mini, then select Next.

Onboarding is Complete

When PayPro Mini has completed onboarding, it will display the following screens:

  1. The setup progress bar shows that PayPro is finishing the setup process.

  2. The welcome screen is briefly shown before you'll log in to Vagaro.

  3. The Vagaro login screen allows you to log in and resume your business activities.
