Run the Stock Trends Inventory Report

Use the Stock Trends Inventory report to track product quantities and the total value of your inventory over a selected date range.

The report shows how your products are selling, how much stock is being used for business purposes, and what is currently available for customer services. You can view results as a line graph (Chart View) or a tabular breakdown (Grid View), and filter by brand, product category, location, or individual product.

The report contains the following information:

  • Unsold: Products that haven't sold at least one item.

  • Business Use: Products reserved for business use only.

  • Purchase: Product purchases.

  • Refund: Products that were refunded.

  • Sold: Products that were sold to customers.

  • Lost: Products removed from stock and marked as lost.

  • Stock: Products available.

Prerequisites: This feature is available for all Vagaro businesses.

On a Phone

Running the Stock Trends report on a phone shows how much stock is available, lost, sold, refunded, and so on.

  • In Chart View, a line chart shows stock trends by status.

  • In Grid View, a card is shown for each day, week, month, or year and includes the total number of items per status.

To run the Stock Trends inventory report:

  1. Select More This is an icon used to go to the More initial navigation step on the Vagaro website and the Vagaro Pro app. → Reports → Stock Trends.

  2. At the top of the screen, select the Date Range to report on. The report updates automatically each time you change the date range.

  3. Optionally, in the top-right corner, select Filters filters_icon_2x.png, set any of the following filters, and then select Run Report.

    • Brand: Show data on a specific brand.

    • Product Category: Show data on a specific product category. The options available depend on the brand selected.

    • Business Location: If your business has multiple locations, show data for all locations or a specific set of locations. This option is available only if the Multi-Location Reports Access Level is set to View.

    • Product: Show data on a specific product. The options available depend on the brand or product selected.

  4. Optionally, next to Filters filters_icon_2x.png, use the drop-down list to group data by the Week, Year, Month, or Day.

  5. Optionally, in the top-right corner, select Action Three vertically stacked circles, representing a menu or more options icon., then:

    • Select Hide Legend or View Legend to close or display the report's legend.

    • Select Type to view trends by the number of stock (Quantity) or the value of that stock (Value).

    • Select Grid View or Chart View to switch between the two report views.

    • Select Star or Remove Star to bookmark or unbookmark.

    • Select Print to get a hard copy of the report.

    • Select Export PDF or Export Excel to download this report.

On a Computer, Tablet, Pay Desk, or PayPro

Running the Stock Trends report shows how much stock is available, lost, sold, refunded, and so on.

  • In Chart View, a line chart shows stock trends by status.

  • In Grid View, the data is shown as a table, with one row per day, week, month, or year, and a total count of items for each status.

To run the Stock Trends inventory report:

  1. Select Reports Decorative solid black rectangle, which is usually an icon for reports or charts. → Stock Trends.

  2. Set the date range for your report:

    1. In the top-right corner, select Date Range calendar-regular-full.png to open the date picker.

    2. Use the date picker to choose a date range or a preset range like Yesterday or Last 7 Days.

    3. If you manually selected a date range, select Submit.

  3. Optionally, in the top-right corner, select Filters filter-solid-full.png, set any of the following filters, and then select Run Report.

    Business Location: If your business has multiple locations, show data for all locations or a specific set of locations. This option is available only if the Multi-Location Reports Access Level is set to View.

    • Brand: Show data on a specific brand.

    • Product Category: Show data on a specific product category. The options available depend on the brand selected.

    • Product: Show data on a specific product. The options available depend on the brand or product selected.

  4. Optionally, complete the following additional actions:

    • Use the Chart or Grid list to switch between the two report views.

    • Use the Quantity/Value list to view trends by the number of stock (Quantity) or the value of that stock (Value).

    • When on the Chart View, use the Chart list to group data by the Day, Week, Month, or Year.

    • When on the Grid view, select a column header to sort the report.

    • Select Print print-solid-full.png to get a hard copy of the report.

    • Select Export download2.png to save the report to an Excel or PDF file (computer version only).
