Run the Sales By Category Report – Vagaro Support

The Sales by Category report shows the total profit your business earns for each product category. It also tracks profit margin percentages and the points customers redeemed on each item.

This report shows the following information:

Category: The product categories selected for the report.
Quantity: How many items customers purchased.
Business Cost: How much your business pays to stock a product.
Sales Price: The price you sell the product to customers.
Profit: The difference between the sales price and business cost that your business keeps.
Profit Margins (%): The profit percentage that your business made based on how many items you sold to customers and how much that quantity cost your business to purchase.
Points Redeemed: The total number of points that all customers redeemed to purchase that item.

Prerequisites: This feature is available for all Vagaro businesses.

On a Phone

On the phone, the Sales by Category report shows how well each product category performs at your business.

To run the Sales by Category inventory report:

Select More → Reports → Sales by Category.

The report will automatically run this month's data with no filters.
At the top of the screen, select the Date Range to report on. The report updates automatically each time you change the date range.
Optionally, in the top-right corner, select Filters , set any of the following filters, and then select Run Report.
- Brand: Show data on a specific brand.
- Product Category: Show data on a specific product category. The options available depend on the brand selected.
- Product: Show data on a specific product. The options available depend on the brand or product selected.
- Sort By: Reorder the report.
Optionally, in the top-right corner, select Action , then:
- Select Star or Remove Star to bookmark or unbookmark.
- Select Print to get a hard copy of the report.
- Select Export PDF or Export Excel to download this report.

On a Computer, Tablet, Pay Desk, or PayPro

The Sales by Category report shows how well each product category performs at your business.

To run the Sales by Category inventory report:

Select Reports → Sales by Category.

The report will automatically run this month's data with no filters.
Set the date range for your report:
1. In the top-right corner, select Date Range to open the date picker.
2. Use the date picker to choose a date range or a preset range like Yesterday or Last 7 Days.
3. If you manually selected a date range, select Submit.
Optionally, in the top-right corner, select Filters , set any of the following filters, and then select Run Report.
- Brand: Show data on a specific brand.
- Product Category: Show data on a specific product category. The options available depend on the brand selected.
- Product: Show data on a specific product. The options available depend on the brand or product selected.
Optionally, sort, print, or export the report:
- Select a column header to sort the report.
- Select Print to get a hard copy of the report.
- Select Export to save the report to an Excel or PDF file (computer version only).
