Gift cards are added and sold at checkout on demand when customers buy them in-house, on your Vagaro Listing Page, MySite, and on Facebook; there is no need to create them in advance. Purchased gift cards are stored in the recipient's customer profile, or the customer can ask for a gift card receipt to give to the recipient. If this receipt is lost, go to the Gift Card Report to view all of the gift cards you've sold and their current balances, as well as void, send a copy, or edit them. Vagaro offers physical gift cards in the Vagaro Online Store, and our Design Services Team can help resize, create, and touch up your digital and physical gift card designs. If you recently switched to Vagaro, you can transfer their pre-existing gift cards to continue accepting them.
If a business has employees with merchant accounts, gift card sales are credited to the employee who sold the gift card in-house.
Important
Each customer is restricted from purchasing more than $1,500 (or the equivalent in local currency) in gift cards per day. This limit includes individual gift certificates for smaller amounts that add up to more than $1,500 or a single one for more than $1,500. Restrictions are set by FinCen and our banking partners.

Prerequisites: This feature is available for all Vagaro businesses. At least one customer must have booked an appointment during the selected date range.
To sell a gift card:

On the Checkout screen, select a customer.

Select Shopping Cart.

Select Add Item, then select Gift.

Enter a unique gift card number:

Enter a Gift Card # or select Auto Generate.

Scan the gift card's barcode.

Fill in the other gift card fields:

Service/Class/Add-On: (Optional) The gift card can only be redeemed with a specific service, class, or add-on.

No. of Visits(s): The number of times you can use this gift card to fully redeem a service, class, or add-on. Only displayed if you attached an item to this gift card.

Amount: The value of the gift card. This will be prepopulated if you tied a service, class, or add-on to this gift card.

Expires On: The expiration date of your gift card.

Check your state’s regulations for information on gift card expiration.

Sent From: The purchaser's name.

Recipient (Optional): The customer profile attached to the gift card. Leave this box blank if the customer does not want to add a recipient or the recipient doesn't have a customer profile.

Message: (Optional) The message displayed on the digital gift card.

Send Now: (Optional) Send the gift card to the recipient and purchaser after checking out. You cannot toggle this option off if you do not select a recipient.

Schedule: The date and time when the customer wants the recipient to receive this digital gift card. For example, 7 P.M. on the recipient's birthday.

Toggle Email Gift Card to Recipient to send an email copy of the gift card after checkout.

Toggle Print Gift Card to print a gift card receipt at checkout.

Choose one of Vagaro's gift card designs or one of your own (Business Created). A preview of your gift card will display.

Review the gift card, then select Add to Cart to return to the shopping cart.

Select Done to check out your customer.
Note
If you created a gift certificate for a service, then any taxes applied to that service will also be included in the gift card's price.

Take payment for the gift card, then select Checkout.

Optionally, print a gift card receipt for the customer.

To scan a physical barcode, select the Gift Card Number box, then scan the gift card with the barcode scanner.

Close: Delete all progress.

Back: Make changes to the gift card.

Add Gift Card: Add the card to checkout.

Is there a way to turn off the email function when selling a gift certificate at checkout? I know can set it to send at a later date, but some customers don't want an email copy set to the recipient.
Hi Jessi, on the web, you can toggle off Send Email To to prevent an email from being sent to the recipient.
Is there a way to select more than 1 service to add onto a gift card?
It is currently not possible to select more than one service. We encourage you to create a feature request at https://feedback.vagaro.com/forums/915991-feature-requests. You can also search for and upvote suggestions that other users have submitted.
