In Vagaro, you can sell physical or digital gift cards to your customers. By offering gift cards, you can boost sales because customers often spend more than what's on the card. Your business also gets the money right away without performing the service, which can be a big help. Plus, when people give your gift cards to friends or family, it introduces new people to the business, possibly making them regular customers too. You can also create a gift card for a charity or raffle.

When a customer comes into your store to purchase a gift card, you will need to create and configure your gift card from the Checkout screen. If you have physical gift cards on hand, you can activate them on the same screen. All gift card numbers are stored in the system, so if a customer loses their card, they can still use it in-house and online. Gift cards purchased by customers can also be sent directly to their friends or family, even if they don't have a customer profile. You can order physical gift cards from the Vagaro Online Store, and our Design Services Team can help resize, create, and touch up your digital and physical gift card designs.
Keep in mind that you can transfer pre-existing gift cards from another software to Vagaro.
To sell a gift card:

Go to the Checkout screen and select a customer.

Select Shopping Cart.

Select +Add Item, then select Gift.

Enter a Gift Card # in one of the following ways:

Digital Gift Cards: Enter a Gift Card # or select Auto Generate to create a random number.

Physical Gift Cards: Enter your physical gift card's code or use your phone to scan it.

Fill in the other gift card fields:

Service/Class/Add-On: (Optional) This gift card can only be redeemed with a specific service, class, or add-on.

No. of Visits(s): (Optional) The number of times you can use this gift card to fully redeem a service, class, or add-on. Only displayed if you attached an item to this gift card.

Amount: The value of the gift card. This will be prepopulated if you tied a service, class, or add-on to this gift card.

Expires on: The expiration date of your gift card. Select the X icon to reset.
Important
Check your state’s regulations for gift cards and certificates for information on expiration.

Sent From: Prepopulated with the customer's name.

Recipient (Optional): The person who will receive the gift card. Leave blank if the customer does not want to add a recipient. See Where Are Digital Gift Cards Stored? for how gift cards are restored without a recipient.

Message: (Optional) Leave a message for the recipient that will be applied on digital gift cards.

Send Now: (Optional) Send the gift card to the recipient and purchaser after checking out. You cannot toggle this option off if you do not select a recipient.

Schedule: (Optional) This setting is perfect for surprise gifts. You can set the date and time for when the recipient will receive their digital gift card. For example: 7 P.M. on the receipient's birthday.

Toggle Email Gift Card to Recipient to send an email copy of the gift card after checkout.

Toggle Print Gift Card to print at checkout. This is perfect if your customer wants a physical copy of their gift card, but you don't have one on hand.

Choose a pre-configured template design, or use one of your own designs (Business Created). A preview of your gift card will be displayed. You can order physical gift cards from Vagaro Online Store , and our Design Services Team can help resize, create, and touch up your digital and physical gift card designs.

Review the gift card, then select Add to Cart to return to the shopping cart.

Select Done to check out your customer.

Take payment for the gift card, then select Checkout.

Optionally, you can print a gift card receipt for your customer.
If you schedule the delivery date at a later date, the system will send the customer and a recipient a text message on that date. Also, see Redeeming a Gift Card to learn how to redeem gift cards.

Select Next to preview the card.

Select Close to remove the gift card, Back to make changes, or Add Gift Card to add the card to checkout.

Take payment for the gift card, then select Checkout.

Optionally, you can print a gift card receipt for your customer.
The system will automatically send a text message receipt to the recipient on the scheduled delivery date. Also, see Redeeming a Gift Card to learn how to redeem gift cards.
After checking out the customer, the gift card will be stored in the recipient's customer profile. If the customer chooses not to enter a recipient, the gift card will only attach to a customer profile when redeemed. Make sure that you provide the customer with a receipt and that they do not lose their gift card number. If they lose this number, or you want to view all the gift cards you've sold, go to the Gift Card Report, where you can change the balance, void, send a copy, or edit a customer's gift card.
