Memberships are sold at Checkout, and customers can also purchase them on your Vagaro Listing Page or MySite. Customers can have more than one membership, as long as they are all different and and renewed on time.
Tip
If your employees or booth renters have their own merchant account, enable the Package & Membership Sales Go Directly to Employees setting in the Taxes & Checkout screen so sales and renewals are deposited directly into their accounts.
Prerequisites: This feature is available for all Vagaro businesses, and you must already have at least one membership created and active. Optionally, Credit Card Processing is required to set up auto-renewing memberships.
To sell a membership:

On the Checkout screen, select a customer.

Select Shopping Cart.

Select Add Item, then Membership.

Enter the Membership #, or Scan the physical membership card, then select Next.
Tip
Vagaro offers custom membership cards for purchase from the Vagaro Online Store.

In the Membership list, select a membership. The membership's details will automatically be filled out.

Optionally, update the membership details if required. The Description and Reward points cannot be updated.

Service Provider: The employee credited for selling this membership, if Package & Membership Sales Go Directly to Employees is enabled in the Taxes and Checkout screen.

Charge Frequency: How often to charge the customer's card on file.
Note
If Auto Renew is turned off, the Charge Frequency does not apply.

Price: The price of the membership, for the initial purchase and future payments.

Payment Date: Date when the customer first paid for the membership; that is, when the customer's membership started.
Important
Ensure your customer has a card on file. If you enter a date other than today, the system can't collect payment.

Optionally, to sell an auto-renewing membership, toggle on Auto Renew and configure the following settings:

Carry Balance Forward: Allow the membership to carry unused membership visits into their next billing cycle.

Discount Initial Payments: Give the customer a discount in amount ($/ or percentage (%) for the number of Billing Cycles you enter.

Auto Renew Limit: Set how many times this membership will renew. You can set this option to Unlimited.

Optionally, if this membership allows Family & Friends Sharing, select up to 5 Family and Friends who can use this membership.

Select Add Membership.

If Auto Renew is turned off, you'll be brought back to the shopping cart.

If Auto Renew is turned on, select or enter a card on file. Renewing memberships must have a card on file.

Take payment for the membership and check out the customer.
If your Vagaro employee account limits the discounts you offer, you'll see an Approval Required popup.
To sell a membership:

On the Checkout screen, select a customer.

At the bottom of the screen, select Membership.

Enter or scan a unique Membership Card ID.

Take payment for the membership and check out the customer.
The membership has been added to the customer's profile. On the web, tablet, Pay Desk, and PayPro, the customer's membership will also display on the Checkout screen.
If your Vagaro employee account limits the discounts you offer, you'll see an Approval Required popup.
