Disconnect Credit Card (EMV) Reader from Your Device – Vagaro Support

A credit card reader can be paired with only one device at a time, such as your phone or laptop. If you want to use the credit card reader on another device, such as a new phone, you will have to unpair the credit card reader and then pair it to your new device.

Furthermore, when you connect a chip reader to a device, it assigns the reader to the business. Always unassign the reader before selling or giving away your EMV reader so that the new business can pair their device to it. If another business attempts to use that reader, they'll see a popup stating that the reader is already assigned to another business.

Prerequisites: Unassigning a credit card reader can be performed only in the Vagaro Pro app.

To unassign a reader in the Vagaro Pro app:

Open the Vagaro Pro app and log in, then select More → Connected Devices.
Select the reader you want to unassign.
If you haven't already, connect to the reader.
Select Unassign Reader.
Select Unassign Credit Card Reader to confirm the action.
