Install and Update the Vagaro Pro Utility

Known Issue with Chrome Browsers

We’re aware of an issue in the latest Chrome and Edge updates that can prevent your device from pairing. Our team is working on a fix. In the meantime, follow the troubleshooting steps below.

  1. Open Vagaro in Chrome or Edge.

  2. Go to permissions:

    • Chrome: Select View Site Information chrome_tune_icon.png → Site settings.

    • Edge: Select View Site Information lock-keyhole-regular-full.png → Permissions for this site.

  3. Change your permissions:

    • Chrome: From the Apps on device list, select Allow.

    • Edge: From the Sites can ask to connect to any device on your local network list, select Allow.

  4. Refresh your browser

The Vagaro Pro Utility is required to connect an EMV Reader, PayPro Go, and PayPro Mini to your computer and process payments reliably.

Prerequisites: This feature is available for all Vagaro businesses.

Install the Vagaro Pro Utility

Before pairing any devices to your computer, you need to download the Vagaro Pro Utility. You may need to use Administrator privileges to download and install this utility.

On a Windows Computer

To install the utility:

  1. Go to the Checkout circle-dollar-regular-full.png screen.

  2. In the bottom-right corner, select Pay By Card, then choose an option:

    • EMV Reader: A Download Vagaro Pro Utility popup will appear, select Download.

    • PayPro Go: An Accept Payments with the PayPro Go popup will appear, select Connect My PayPro Go → Download Vagaro Pro Utility.

    • PayPro Mini: An Accept Payments with the PayPro Mini popup will appear, select Connect My PayPro Mini → Download Vagaro Pro Utility.

  3. Open the file to begin installing.

  4. Agree to the license terms, then select Install.

  5. Select Finish when the installation is complete.

    You will see the Vagaro Pro Utility Application icon on the Taskbar or in the System Tray.

On a Mac Computer

To install the utility:

  1. Go to the Checkout circle-dollar-regular-full.png screen.

  2. In the bottom-right corner, select Pay By Card, then choose an option:

    • EMV Reader: A Download Vagaro Pro Utility popup will appear, select Download.

    • PayPro Go: An Accept Payments with the PayPro Go popup will appear, select Connect My PayPro Go → Download Vagaro Pro Utility.

    • PayPro Mini: An Accept Payments with the PayPro Mini popup will appear, select Connect My PayPro Mini → Download Vagaro Pro Utility.

  3. Locate the file in the Downloads folder and run it.

  4. On the Introduction screen, select Continue.

  5. On the License screen, select Continue. The only language choice available is English.

  6. Select Agree to accept the terms of the Software License Agreement.

    If there is more than one possible installation destination (hard drive), you will see a Destination Select screen; otherwise, the installer moves to the Installation type selection.

  7. Select Install. (There is no need to customize the installation.)

  8. Enter your system password, then select Install Software. A progress screen appears while the software is installed.

  9. When the installation is finished, select Close.

    You'll see that the Vagaro Pro Utility Application icon has been added to the Menu Bar.

  10. If a popup requests access to your Downloads folder to delete the installer file, select OK.

Update the Vagaro Pro Utility

Keep your devices running smoothly by updating the Vagaro Pro Utility. If an update is required, you'll notice a popup the next time you pair your Once updated, you’ll be ready to pair your device and continue accepting credit card payments without interruption.

Note

Before following the steps below, make sure that you've opened the utility on your device.

On Windows

On Mac

To update the utility:

  1. Go to the Checkout circle-dollar-regular-full.png screen.

  2. In the bottom-right corner, select Pay By Card, then choose the device you usually pair with.

  3. If there is an update, a popup will appear, prompting you to download the updated utility. Download the file.

  4. Open the file in your Downloads folder to install the updated utility. After installation is complete, you can pair your device and continue accepting credit card payments.

Reinstall Utility

If you run into issues with the Vagaro Pro Utility or have trouble updating it, uninstall and reinstall the utility. This typically resolves most problems.

On a Windows Computer

To reinstall the utility:

  1. Make sure the Vagaro Pro utility is not running:

    1. Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.

    2. In Task Manager, scroll to or search for Vagaro Pro.

    3. Select it, then select End Task.

  2. Remove the app from your computer:

    1. Open the Start menu, then select Settings.

    2. Select Apps → Installed apps.

    3. Scroll to or search for Vagaro Pro.

    4. Next to Vagaro Pro, select More more_horizontal.png → Uninstall.

  3. On your computer, select Checkout circle-dollar-regular-full.png.

  4. In the bottom-right corner, select Pay By Card, then choose an option:

    • EMV Reader: A Download Vagaro Pro Utility popup will appear, select Download.

    • PayPro Go: An Accept Payments with the PayPro Go popup will appear, select Connect My PayPro Go → Download Vagaro Pro Utility.

    • PayPro Mini: An Accept Payments with the PayPro Mini popup will appear, select Connect My PayPro Mini → Download Vagaro Pro Utility.

  5. Install the Vagaro Pro utility.

On a Mac Computer

To reinstall the utility:

  1. Make sure the Vagaro Pro utility is not running:

    1. Open Activity Monitor (found in Applications → Utilities or via Spotlight search).

    2. Use the search box to find Vagaro Pro and select it.

    3. Select Stop (octagon icon) in the upper-left corner.

  2. Remove the app from your computer:

    1. Go to your Applications, then find the Vagaro Pro utility.

    2. Right-click the Vagaro Pro utility in your applications, then select Move to Trash.

    3. Select Finder → Empty Trash from the menu bar in the Finder.

  3. On your computer, select Checkout circle-dollar-regular-full.png.

  4. In the bottom-right corner, select Pay By Card, then choose an option:

    • EMV Reader: A Download Vagaro Pro Utility popup will appear, select Download.

    • PayPro Go: An Accept Payments with the PayPro Go popup will appear, select Connect My PayPro Go → Download Vagaro Pro Utility.

    • PayPro Mini: An Accept Payments with the PayPro Mini popup will appear, select Connect My PayPro Mini → Download Vagaro Pro Utility.

  5. Install the Vagaro Pro utility.

    This is so helpful! Quick question – the link to download the update leads to a dead page. I'm not seeing another way to access the download, can you provide a link here for the download? Thanks!

    I've been trying to link my paypro mini to my computer and it just won't work. I've followed the steps above multiple times and it just won't work.
