Visa is rolling out new cards with enhanced security features. Some of these cards may not work with the older Vagaro EMV Reader that was available between January 2018 and March 2023.
If you have trouble charging a card, you can still complete the transaction by:

Using Tap to Phone.

Upgrading your hardware.
Not sure which reader you have? Here's how you can check:

If you purchased your reader after March 2023, you have the upgraded EMV Reader+.

Go to your Purchased Product Report to check your order. If it lists “EMV Reader+”, you’re all set—your reader is not affected by this change.

Check the back of your reader and look for a serial number starting with "CHB2." All serial numbers starting with "CHB3" will not be affected by this change.

You can also see your reader's serial number from your phone or computer:

On a phone, go to → , then look for a reader starting with "CHB2."

On a computer, open the Vagaro Pro Utility, connect your device, and check to make sure the serial number starts with "CHB2."

Tap to Pay is only available on iPhone or Android.
To set up Tap to Pay:

Open the Vagaro Pro app and log in, then select → .

Select your credit card reader, then select → .

After disconnecting your reader, go to Checkout.

In the bottom-left corner, select Connect, then select Tap to Pay on iPhone or Tap to Pay on Android.

Optionally, if you're on an iPhone, link your Apple ID.

In Tap to Pay on iPhone. Now Available, select Get Started.

Once the system has linked your account, you'll see instructions on using Tap to Pay with Vagaro. Select Next to finish the setup process.
