View and Manage Your Discounts and Promo Codes – Vagaro Support

The Discounts screen is used to set up customer discounts and promo codes to promote your business, celebrate special occasions, or even just to thank long-time customers. You can highlight your services and classes, products, memberships and packages, and gift cards for any combination of new and existing customers and your employees. Discounts and promotional codes are applied at checkout in-house and online on your Vagaro Listing Page.

Once you create a discount, it is automatically active, and you can immediately let your customers know about the promotion.

Note

Discounts do not apply to fees.

Prerequisites: This feature is only available for all businesses on the web, tablet, and Pay Desk versions; at least one discount must already be created and used by a customer.

Deactivate or Reactivate A Discount

If you no longer want your customers to use one of your discounts or make it temporarily unavailable for use, we recommend you deactivate it rather than delete it. Deleting a discount removes all statistics and revenue data for this discount.

To deactivate or reactivate a discount:

Go to Settings → Things We Sell → Discounts.
To deactivate a discount, toggle off the switch in the discount’s Active column.
To reactivate a discount, toggle on the switch in the discount’s Active column.

Duplicate a Discount

Duplicating a discount allows you to copy a discount you already have and use it as a template to create a new one instead of having to re-enter all of the information if you just select Add.

To copy a discount and create a new one:

Go to Settings → Things We Sell → Discounts.
For the discount to be duplicated, select the Action menu and then select Duplicate.
Update the new discount’s information and settings.
Select Save.

Download a List of Your Discounts

Downloading a list of your discounts exports the information you see on the Discounts screen to an Excel file.

Go to Settings → Things We Sell → Discounts.
In the top-right corner of the Discounts list, select the Download button. The file is saved to your computer’s Download folder.

Print a List of Your Discounts

Printing a list of your discounts prints out the information you see on the Discounts screen.

Go to Settings → Things We Sell → Discounts.
In the top-right corner of the Discounts list, select the Print button.

Delete a Discount

Deleting a discount also removes its customer and sales statistics. If you delete a discount, it cannot be restored. We recommend that you only deactivate discounts.

Go to Settings → Things We Sell → Discounts.
For the discount to be edited, select the Action menu and then select Edit.
Confirm that you want to delete the discount, and then select Delete.

Is there a way to discount Gift Certificates sold for services?

Also, is there not a way to discount gift certificates across the board vs. putting in each dollar amount? This doesn't seem like a very realistic way of discounting gift certificates. Thanks!

Hi Sarah,

There is currently no way to discount service-based certificates. These will configure according to the cost of a service. It's also not possible to discount certificates by a flat percentage.

For example, a 20% discount could mean the customer pays $80 for a $100 certificate but also $800 for a $1000 certificate.

Yes, you can create an in-house discount for Military/Veterans. You just need to create the discount, as shown above, and apply the discount when checking out a customer in-house. Please note: When setting up, you should apply this preset discount to all services/classes/products. Currently, a military discount cannot be applied online as there would be no way to verify.
