The Discounts screen is used to set up customer discounts and promo codes to promote your business, celebrate special occasions, or even just to thank your customers. You can highlight your services and classes, products, memberships and packages, and gift cards for any combination of new and existing customers and your employees. Discounts and promotional codes are applied at checkout in-house and online on your Vagaro Listing Page.
Once you create a discount, it is automatically active, and you can immediately let your customers know about the promotion.
Note
Discounts do not apply to your fees.
Prerequisites: This feature is only available for all businesses on the web, tablet, Pay Desk, and PayPro; at least one discount must already be created and used by a customer.
You can filter your list of discounts by searching for specific information about your discount
To search your discounts:

In the Search bar at the top of the screen, enter the discount's information to filter by, then select Search:

Date: Enter the day of the month or year that the discount was created.

Discount Name: Enter all or part of the discount's name.

Created By: Enter all or part of the employee's name who created the discount.

Period: Enter the day of the month or year of the date range that the discount was active.

Optionally, sort the appointments by selecting the column headers at the top of the list.

In the top-right corner of the list, you can select:

Export : Save the report to an Excel or PDF file (web version only).

Print : Get a hard copy of the report.

We do not recommend editing a discount that you've already announced because customers will not be automatically notified about the changes; you'll have to let them know either in person or another way, such as sending a mass email or text blast.
To edit a discount:
By selecting two or more items in a discount, you can save time and effort from having to edit them individually.
Gift cards cannot be mass edited.
To mass edit discounts for services, classes, and add-ons:

In the list of of discounts, select the discount's the Action menu, then select Edit.

Scroll down to the bottom of the screen.

Select Mass Edit.

In the Mass Edit popup, select the categories and items to be updated, then update their Discount amount.

Select Apply to save your changes and close the popup.

Select Save.
To mass edit discounts for products:

Note
For Membership/Package discounts, also update their Discounted Billing Cycles if necessary. Leaving it set to Unlimited allows the discount to be applied indefinitely to renewal payments.

Select Apply to save your changes and close the popup.

Select Save.
Instead of reusing an expired discount, we recommend duplicating a discount and then editing its settings so you have a record of the discount you've offered in the past. Duplicating a discount allows you to copy a discount you already have and use it as a template for a new discount.
To copy a discount and create a new one:
Downloading a list of your discounts exports the information you see on the Discounts screen to an Excel file.
To download a list of your discounts:
Printing a list of your discounts prints out the information you see on the Discounts screen.
To print a list of your Discounts:
If you no longer want your customers to use one of your discounts or make it temporarily unavailable for use, we recommend you deactivate it rather than delete it. Deleting a discount removes all statistics and revenue data for this discount. If the discount has not expired, eligible customers will not be notified that the discount is no longer valid.
To deactivate or reactivate a discount:
Deleted discounts cannot be recovered, and eligible customers will not be notified that the discount is no longer valid. For your own records, we recommend deactivating unwanted discounts instead of deleting them.

Is there a way to discount Gift Certificates sold for services?
Also, is there not a way to discount gift certificates across the board vs. putting in each dollar amount? This doesn't seem like a very realistic way of discounting gift certificates. Thanks!
Hi Sarah,
There is currently no way to discount service-based certificates. These will configure according to the cost of a service. It's also not possible to discount certificates by a flat percentage.
For example, a 20% discount could mean the customer pays $80 for a $100 certificate but also $800 for a $1000 certificate.

Yes, you can create an in-house discount for Military/Veterans. You just need to create the discount, as shown above, and apply the discount when checking out a customer in-house. Please note: When setting up, you should apply this preset discount to all services/classes/products. Currently, a military discount cannot be applied online as there would be no way to verify.
