Add New Patients to E-Prescribe – Vagaro Support

Before you can prescribe medications through E-Prescribe, each patient must have a complete profile that meets prescription requirements. This includes key details such as their name, date of birth, gender, address, and at least one phone number. If any of this information is missing, you’ll be prompted to fill it in before continuing. Once a patient’s profile is linked with ScriptSure, you’ll be able to prescribe medications and view up to 12 months of their filled medication history directly in Vagaro.

Prerequisites: This feature requires E-Prescribe.

Add Patient to E-Prescribe

To prescribe medication to your patients, you'll need to create a customer profile for them in Vagaro and then add them to E-Prescribe. To connect an existing profile to E-Prescribe, additional details may be required: First Name, Last Name, Birthday, Gender, Address, and at least one phone number. If an existing profile does not have sufficient information, you will be prompted to enter additional details when going to prescribe to your customers.

Keep in mind that when you're creating new patient profiles in the future, you should have this required information entered beforehand so you don't need to later on.

To add a patient to E-Prescribe

Go to Customers and select a customer.
Select the patient's profile and go to the E-Prescribe tab.
Select Start Prescribing.
- If the patient is missing information from their profile, you will be prompted to enter additional details.
- If the patient's profile matches multiple patients in ScriptSure, you will be prompted to select the correct patients and link their Vagaro profile with ScriptSure.

You have connected the customer's profile with ScriptSure, and you can now begin prescribing. Doing this also allows you to access up to 12 months of the patient's filled medication history. From the E-Prescribe tab in the customer's profile, you can manage the following:

Prescriptions: View your patient's prescription history and prescribe new medication.
Allergies: View your patient's allergies and add new ones.
Pharmacy: View and add your patient's preferred pharmacies.
Diagnosis: View and add any diagnoses for your patient.
Vitals: View and write vitals for your patient.

Remove Patient from E-Prescribe

To remove a patient from E-Prescribe

Go to Customers .
Select the patient's profile.
Go to the E-Prescribe tab.
In the bottom-left corner, select Disconnect Customer.
Acknowledge that the customer will no longer be linked with ScriptSure and Vagaro, then select Disconnect.
