After an account is created, users can be added to and invited to use E-Prescribe. The users who are invited will receive an email link to complete their setup. For Medical Assistants like nurses, secretaries, IT staff, and other supporting users, the setup process is very simple. The users essentially confirm their basic information and set a password.
For providers and doctors, the setup process has many more requirements. Any provider (prescriber with a DEA and/or NPI number added to ScriptSure) must undergo Identity Proofing (IDP) and be issued a token for prescribing controlled substances. A token is simply an app downloaded to the provider's cell phone OR a physical device that can be purchased.
Adding a new doctor or medical assistant will increase your subscription price, with the pricing being $40 per month per doctor and an additional $5 per month per medical assistant.
Note
Be sure to use Google Chrome or Safari web browser when signing up. You may encounter issues with advancing through screens if you do not use one of these browsers.
Prerequisites: This feature requires that you've already set up your E-Prescribe account and that your doctor and/or medical assistant has an employee profile at your business.

-
Go to Integrations:

To comply with DEA regulations for Electronic Prescriptions for Controlled Substances (EPCS), providers must complete identity verification. Vagaro has partnered with ID.me to handle this process securely. Once verified, providers receive DEA-compliant credentials that allow them to issue controlled substance prescriptions through E-Prescribe. ID.me is a trusted digital identity network, certified under NIST 800‐63‐3, and used by more than 300 organizations, including healthcare systems, government agencies, and financial institutions. Verification is a one-time process—once your identity is confirmed, you won’t need to reverify when using ID.me across supported platforms.
Important
If a DEA number is entered for a provider and they intend to prescribe controlled substances, their EPCS Permissions must be approved by a Full Admin user other than the provider themselves. This process is a DEA requirement and must be followed. The person approving can be anyone, including a friend, spouse, family member, etc. You can create a medical assistant account for them, and then the user can be inactivated if they will not be using E-Prescribe.
