In Online Appointment Rules, you can specify which memberships or packages are required for booking appointments. If a customer does not have the membership or package required, the following popup will appear.
Prerequisites: This feature requires that you set up at least one membership or package.

Go to Online Appointment Rules:

Phone: Select → → .

Computer, Tablet, Pay Desk, or PayPro: Select → .

Under Booking, scroll down and toggle Membership or Package Required to Book. More options will appear.

Open the Memberships or Packages Required to Book list, then select the memberships and/or packages to be required.

Open the Membership/Package Holders Can Only Book list, then select the services or classes you want to apply this setting to.

Select Save.

Can this be used for new customers to require a consultation be booked for or with their first appointment?
Hi Marlene, this depends on how your business is set up. Do you want to require a membership for your other services?
I've done this and it doesn't seem to be working.

I tried setting this up for two different memberships and two separate packages and none of them are working.
Hi Tawnya, I checked your account, and the setting is working as intended. The item will still show up on your menu and will have available timeslots, but when I go to book a timeslot, I am prompted to purchase the package to continue.
