Adding the name of the person who referred a customer to your business lets you track who or where your new customers are coming from. You can run the Customer report and filter it or sort it by referral.
Prerequisites: This feature is available for all businesses.
To add and keep track of customers who refer other customers to your business, follow these steps:
To add the name of the person who referred a customer to you:

At the bottom of the screen, select Customers.

Search for and select the customer's profile, or add a new one.

On the Profile tab, select Edit next to the Personal Information heading.

Scroll down to Referred By, then enter the name of the person who referred the customer to you.
Important
The name of the referral must be entered with the exact, same spelling, capitalization, punctuation, and spacing each time, or else a different variant of that name will shown in the Customer report.

Add or update any of the customer's information as needed.

Select Save.

Search for and select the customer's profile, or add a new one.

On the Profile tab, select Edit Profile at the top of the screen, or the Edit icon near the customer's photo.

Enter the name of the that the customer was Referred By.
Important

This is pretty difficult to track when new & existing customers are booking online. What's the most practical way to implement a " refer a friend and get 15% off" program.
Yes this is pretty bad. We need to be able to send a custom link that will just do it for us
Hi, Paige. You can create a new customer intake form using the Contact module and make the Referred by field mandatory when booking with you in-house or online. Any information that the customer provides will automatically be added to their Customer Profile. Here is the article about how to add the module to a form:
