Set up a Google Developer Account – Vagaro Support

To add your Branded App to the Google Play Store so customers can download it, you must first create a Google Developer Account and pay Google's $25 fee.

Before you begin

Google's app guidelines require that business owners complete the signup steps and submit the required information to register for their developer program.

The Google Developer Program requires a one-time registration fee of $25 USD, which is not included in your Vagaro payments. You'll also need a Google user account, which can be set up at https://accounts.google.com/signup.

Register for a Google Developer Account

Go to https://play.google.com/console/signup.
Log in with your Google user account.

If you do not already have 2-step verification enabled on your Google user account, you will be prompted to do so before continuing.
1. Select Turn on 2-step verification.
2. Select Get Started.
3. Enter your Google account password.
4. Enter the phone number to use for 2-step verification, select your preferred code delivery method, and select Next.
5. Enter the code that was sent to your device, and select Next.
6. Select Turn On.
7. Return to https://play.google.com/console/signup.
Choose the Organization account type by selecting Get Started under An Organization.
Enter your organization name.
Use the drop-down menus to select your organization type and the number of employees.
Enter your organization's address, phone number, and website, and select Next.
Answer the "About You" question, and select Next.
Choose a developer account name.

The name you choose here will be visible on the Google Play Store.
Enter a contact name, preferred language, phone number, and email to communicate with Google Play representatives.
1. Verify the contact's email address and phone number by selecting the blue Verify links under the corresponding sections.
Select Next.
Answer the questions about your plans for your Developer Account.

The answers provided here are informational only and will not affect your developer account or branded app.
Accept the terms of service, then select Create Account and Pay.
Enter your payment information to complete the purchase.
You will see a confirmation screen ("Developer Account Created") and receive a receipt in your email.

Verify your identity or organization

After completing your Google Developer Account registration, you may need to verify your identity or organization before any apps can be uploaded or published on your behalf. More information about this step will be sent to the email provided during the first registration steps.

To verify your identity:

Go to https://www.play.google.com/console.
Select Verify ID.
Follow the on-screen prompts to upload documentation verifying your identity.

To verify your organization:

Go to https://www.play.google.com/console.
Select Verify Organization.
Follow the on-screen prompts to upload documentation verifying your organization.

Invite Vagaro to join your account

Log in to your Google Developer Account through the Google Play Console.
Select Users and Permissions.
Select Invite New Users.
Complete the Invite user form using the information below:
1. Email address: appdesign@vagaro.com.
2. Access expiry: leave unchecked.
3. Account Permissions: Admin (all permissions.)
Select Invite user.
Select Send Invite.

Google will send an email invitation to the Vagaro Design Team, who will accept the invite within one business day. The Vagaro Design Team will verify the account permissions and notify you if there are any remaining action items regarding your Google Developer Account.
