If you need to make changes to an appointment that has already been checked out, you can undo the booking and make the changes as needed.
Keep the following in mind:

You can undo an appointment checked out with cash, check, gift card, memberships, or package.

Appointments checked out with credit cards or Vagaro Pay Later can't be undone and must be refunded from the Transaction List.

When undoing a checked-out appointment, only the appointment itself is reversed. Any additional items, such as products or gift cards, are not included and must be refunded separately.
Prerequisites: Requires a checked-out appointment on the calendar.
To undo a checked-out appointment:

Go to the Calendar
screen, then select the calendar you want to view.

Find the appointment.

Select the appointment on the calendar to open its details, then select Undo Checkout.
Tip
A gray bar on the top or left-side of an appointment timeslot signifies that the service has been checked out.

If you are integrated with QuickBooks and/or Xero, an Alert will appear. Select OK to confirm (you’ll need to manually remove the transaction in those systems too).

Select OK to confirm that you want to undo the appointment.

Need to be able to edit the checkouts afterwards as sometimes staff forgets to add their tips. Also, a "debit" option button and an "other" button would also be ideal if we are using a different cc/debit processing system and if we want to log past gift certificates under "other". And "e-transfer" button would be great too.

Is there a way to refund a service to the client's credit but then check them out using a gift card instead? How would I go about this as I am unable to "undo checkout"? Any help would be appreciated.

If the client paid with a debit/credit card, can I detach it from a service that's checked out, edit the service and then attach/apply the payment to the new service?
Hi Rolando, that functionality is not available on Vagaro. You will need to refund the customer and have them come in and pay for the new service.

If the checked out appointment is in the future and needs to be canceled, what would happen to the transaction? I feel like an appointment should be able to be canceled regardless of checking out.
Hi Lara, if the appointment was checked out in the future, you should still be able to undo checkout.
