When creating an email or text marketing campaign, you can insert a dynamically changing name field to your campaign's title, body, and headers. You do not need to enter the customer's name manually; the system will automatically include your customer's name in the content of your campaign.
Prerequisites: If you haven't created an email or text campaign, learn the basics here.
To insert a customer's name into an email or text campaign:
-
On the top menu, select the Marketing tab.
-
Select Create Campaign under Email & Text Marketing to access the Marketing Campaigns dashboard.
-
Select the Create Campaign button to open the New Campaign screen.
-
Enter a Campaign Subject (for emails) and/or Campaign Title (for text messages).
-
Optionally, if you're creating an email campaign, you can Insert Name into the email's subject. Choose between:
-
First Name: Populates the customer's first name in the email title.
-
First & Last Name: Will populate the customer's first and last name in the email title.
-
-
Configure your text or email marketing campaign based on your preference, then select Next to build your content.
-
Build the content of your campaign.
-
Insert the dynamic customer name field:
Note
In your preview, the name will display "{first_name}" or "{first_name} {last_name}," Don't worry. Once announced and sent, the text will automatically update with your customer's name.
Sending a test message or email to yourself will use the name of whoever is currently signed in. This name will not be displayed for your customers.
-
For Email Campaigns: When editing text components, like Heading, Text, Image & Text, Text & Image, Image On Text, and Text & Image, the option to Insert Name will display; select it, then choose whether to include the customer's First Name or First & Last Name.
-
For Text Campaigns: When composing the text content for your campaign, select Insert Name, then choose whether to include the customer's First Name or First & Last Name.
-
-
Announce your campaign by selecting Announce.
