The Family & Friends feature in Vagaro allows customers to share their memberships and packages with loved ones, including family members, friends, and even pets. Customers can book appointments, make payments, and receive notifications on behalf of others on their list.
With your customers' permission, you can also manage by adding and removing members from their list and changing their settings.
Note
Family and friends are not automatically added as customers to your Customer List until you manually attach them to your business or they book an appointment.
Prerequisites: This feature is available for all Vagaro businesses.
Go to your customer's profile to see who they've added as a family member or friend.
To view your customer's family and friends list:

Go to Customers.

Select the customer's profile or create a new one. Any family, friends, or pets will be displayed below the Family & Friends Sharing section.

Attach a parent, spouse, sibling, or friend to your customer's profile. The family member or friend will receive an invitation email and text that they must accept to access the Family & Friend functionality.
To add a family or friend:

Go to Customers.

Select the customer's profile or create a new one. Any family, friends, or pets will be displayed below the Family & Friends Sharing section.

Select Add Family & Friends. A list of your customers will be displayed.

Select an existing profile at your business or create a new one by selecting the Plus + button in the top-right corner.

Select whether this person is a Parent, Spouse, Sibling, or Friend of the customer you're linking them to.

Enter the customer's information. Some of these fields may be prepopulated if you selected an existing customer.
Note
If you change info for an existing customer in the Family & Friends membership screen, it also affects their customer profile.

Profile Photo : Select Add or Edit to choose an image on your computer.

Email: Enter the customer’s email address to send them appointment reminders and marketing messages from your business. Keep in mind that they will not receive these emails if they have opted out of email notifications.

Mobile: Used to contact this customer but also to send them appointment notifications.
Note
Customers who have opted out of text notifications will not receive any text messages from you.

First Name and Last Name: Enter their name.

Gender (Optional): Choose the customer's gender: Male, Female, or Non-binary.

Configure how you want to connect the two profiles:

Allow This Person to Book for (Customer): The family member or friend can book and pay for appointments on behalf of the customer you linked them to.

Share [customer’s] Credit Card on File: The family member or friend can use the credit card on file of the customer you linked them to.

CC Appointment Notifications: The family member or friend will forward all appointment notifications and reminders to the customer you linked them to.

Select Save in the top-right corner. The family member or friend will then receive an invitation email and text that they must accept to access the Family & Friend functionality.

In the popup, select an existing profile at your business or select Create New to make a new one.

Under Relationship to (Customer Name), select whether this person is a Parent, Spouse, Sibling, or Friend of this customer.

Enter the customer's information. Some of these fields may be prepopulated if you selected an existing customer.

If you change info for an existing customer in the Family & Friends membership screen, it also affects their customer profile.

Profile Photo: Choose an image on your computer or drag and drop one onto the image area (4MB max file size).

Select Save.
If your business works with animals, you can attach a Pet to your customer's profile. The "Pet parent" can then book appointments for their pet at your business.
To add a pet:

Go to Customers.

Select the customer's profile or create a new one. Any family, friends, or pets will be displayed below the Family & Friends Sharing section.

Select Add Family & Friends. A list of your customers will be displayed.

Select an existing profile at your business or create a new one by selecting the Plus + button in the top-right corner.

Select Pet.

Enter the customer's information. Some of these fields may be prepopulated if you selected an existing customer.

If you change info for an existing customer in the Family & Friends membership screen, it also affects their customer profile.

Profile Photo : Select Add or Edit to choose an image on your computer.

First Name and Last Name: Enter their name.

Gender (Optional): Choose the pet's gender.

Birthdate: Enter the pet's birthdate.

Species/Breed: Search for and select the species or breed of pet.

Weight: Enter the weight of the pet.

Select Save in the top-right corner.
To add a pet:

Select the customer's profile or create a new one. Any family, friends, or pets will be displayed below the Family and Friends sections on the left side of their profile.

Select Add Family & Friends. The Family & Friends Sharing popup will be displayed.

In the popup, select an existing profile at your business or select Create New to make a new one.

Gender (Optional): Choose the pet's gender.

Species/Breed: Search for and select the species or breed of pet.

Weight: Enter the weight of the pet.

Select Save.
Any Family and Friends that you or the customer add to their profile will be displayed in their profile. You can resend their invitation, add the family member or friend to your Customer List, or edit and remove their profile.
To manage a customer's Family and Friends:

Go to Customers.
-
Select the customer's profile. Any family, friends, or pets will be displayed in the Family & Friends Sharing section.

Select the family member or friend to be managed.
-
Manage the profile as needed:
-
Edit the family or friend's profile information or settings, then select Save.
Note
If you change info for an existing customer in the Family & Friends membership screen, it also affects their customer profile.

If this profile is not associated with your business, select Attach To Business to add this profile to your Customer List.

Select Remove From Family & Friends, then Remove to remove this profile from Family and Friends sharing.

If the customer still hasn't accepted their Pending Invitation or was denied, select Resend Invitation to resend the invitation to their email and phone.

To manage a customer's Family and Friends:

Go to Customers.
-
Select the customer's profile. Any family, friends, or pets will be displayed in the Family and Friends sections on the left side of their profile.

Select the Action menu for the family member or friend to manage, then choose an option:

Resend Invitation: If the customer still has their Invitation Pending or was denied, you can resend the invitation to their email and phone.
-
Attach to Business: If this profile is not associated with your business, add this family member or friend to your customer list.

Edit: Edit this profile's profile and family and friend settings.
Note
If you change info for an existing customer in the Family & Friends membership screen, it also affects their customer profile.

Remove: Remove this profile from the customer's list of Family and Friends.
