When you sign up for Credit Card Processing, Vagaro must verify your identity as the business owner before your merchant account can be approved. If verification fails, you will see an error before you can finish the application. This article covers the most common verification errors and how to resolve them.

This usually happens when your business legal name or EIN differs from your IRS registration.

Confirm your business legal name and EIN match your IRS documents (such as your EIN confirmation letter) character-for-character.

Enter your legal entity name, not your "doing business as" (DBA) or brand name.

Resubmit your application. If you don't see any errors, please contact support.

Use a valid, unexpired government-issued photo ID.

Make sure the name on your ID matches the legal name you entered in the application.

Retake the photo in good lighting, with all four corners of the ID visible and the text in focus, with no glare or blur.

For the selfie step, use a well-lit, front-facing photo.
Vagaro uses Plaid to verify your bank account. This error means the bank connection could not be completed.

Confirm you are entering the correct online banking username and password for your deposit account.

If your bank prompts for a security code, enter it when it appears.

Try again after a few minutes, as this error can be temporary.

If your bank is not supported or repeatedly fails, link your account manually using your routing and account numbers.

If you are the only business owner, do not enter your information again in the Additional Owners section. This is what commonly causes this error. Your information should only be added as a Representative.
