Cash Drawer Setup on Mac with the Star Printer

The Star printer can be set up to open the Cash Drawer automatically when printing a receipt.

Note

The following steps assume you already have set up the printer. If you have not, please refer to the following link for more details- Star Printer Setup.

Connect Your Printer to Your Cash Drawer

  1. Turn off your printer.

  2. Connect your cash drawer to your printer with the provided (RJ12) cable.

    1. Carefully flip the drawer upside down and plug the cable into the port located at the bottom of the cash drawer.

    2. Plug the other end of the cable into the back of the printer, as seen below.

  3. Once connected, turn on your printer.

  4. On your Mac computer, go to Vagaro.com and sign in.

  5. Navigate to the Transaction List and print a receipt as a test. The Print pop-up window displays.

    Note

    Make sure that Star TSP*** is selected next to Printer and that the Presets created for this printer are selected.

  6. Open the drop-down menu under Scale, then select Printer Features.

  7. Open the Feature Sets menu, then select Cash Drawer Control.

  8. Open the Cash Drawer menu, then select Open Drawer 1.

  9. Open the Presets menu, then select Save As to save your settings.

  10. You can now print your receipt. The cash drawer will open when the receipt prints. If it doesn't, please contact Vagaro support.
