Vagaro's Power BI App – Vagaro Support

With Vagaro's Data Lake feature, you can retrieve your data—like appointment reports, payroll, and gross sales data—to Power BI. You can download the Vagaro Power BI app to create a direct connection between your data and Power BI without the need for a data storage solution.

The steps below will show you how to install a Power BI app on the Web version of Power BI. See the following articles for more information:

Important

For larger enterprise locations integrating with Vagaro Data Lake, we recommend purchasing the PPU (Premium Per User) license for Power BI. Some businesses require more memory to run their reports. Power BI Pro supports a maximum model size of 1 GB. Based on testing, the Power BI model size typically represents about 5–10% of the source Data Lake container size. This puts the estimated upper limit for a container at roughly 10–20 GB. These numbers are approximations and should be treated as guidance only, as the final model size depends heavily on how each business structures and uses its data.

Install the Vagaro Power BI App

You can find and install the Vagaro Power BI app from Power BI's Apps Marketplace.

To install the Vagaro Power BI app:

Sign in to Power BI Service.
Select Apps on the left side of the screen.
Select Get apps.
The Power BI apps marketplace will appear.
Search for "Vagaro" in the top-right corner and select the Vagaro Template App.
Select Get It Now and confirm to install.

Sync Your Data with Power BI

To sync your data with Power BI:

From the Apps page in Power BI, select the Vagaro Template App.
Select the Vagaro menu, then select Connect Your Data. You can now import your data from Vagaro.
Copy the Data Location URL from Vagaro and paste it into Power BI. Select Next.
Copy the Access Token from Vagaro and paste it under SAS token. Select Sign in and connect.
Power BI may take up to 24 hours to populate the data. Once you've connected to Vagaro, you now have access to 50+ pre-built reports.

Keep in mind that once connected, Power BI will sync with Vagaro's data lake every 24 hours and will show the previous days data.

Creating Your Own Reports or Starting from Scratch

In addition to the Vagaro Template app, you can create your own reports directly in the web version of Power BI. To do this, download the Pbix file from the Vagaro Template app, or you can plug in your Access Token and Data Location URL into Power BI Desktop.

If you don't want to use Vagaro's Power BI app, you will need use Power BI Desktop and choose the Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 connection type when creating your own reports. After selecting this connection type, enter your Data Location URL and Access Token.
