Vagaro uses two-step authentication, also known as two-factor authentication (2FA) or multi-factor authentication (MFA), for an extra layer of security for our customers’ and business accounts. You cannot disable or turn off this feature because it is used to prevent unauthorized users from accessing your account.
If you didn’t receive the six-digit code we sent in a text message, also check your email. You will have to enter a new code every 30 days and on each new device you log in with.
Important
If you are experiencing problems with two-factor authentication on the web, reload the page and try again.
On the Vagaro app, make sure you have updated the app to the latest version.
If you still can't log in to Vagaro, contact Vagaro Support.
Here's an example of an authentication code email message:
Enter that code in the verify screen. If you enter the correctly, the Account Verified confirmation screen appears. Select Done to start using Vagaro.
Each time you log in to a new device you will receive an email notification that a new or unrecognized device has logged into your account.

Is there a way to turn this off? We are prompted nearly every time the home screen times out to do the 2-factor authorization and resign in again. It gets texted to our account holder's phone and is not always available- quite frustrating.
2-Factor Authentication is now the default for all employee accounts. There is no way to turn it off. It SHOULD only require verification every 30-days from a particular device, so if that's not what you are experiencing, please contact support for more help.
I'm having the same issue. EVERY time I go into Vagaro from the same device, they send me a code via text that I have to enter in order to access the program. Yes; frustrating.
We are having to enter a code EVERY SINGLE TIME WE LOGIN and we need this to stop! We work in a spa and our staff members are NOT allowed to have their phones. They must have them locked up in their locker at all times unless they are on breaks. Disable this feature unless requested!
I understand your frustration and I'm passing your comments along to our dev team.
I don't even have a multi person account at the moment and it is making me do the verification every time I turn it on in the morning. Pain in the ASS
How do we disable this 2-Factor Authentication? This is not necessary for us and is a real inconvenience.
Folks, I don't know what to say. I know there are anti-fraud reasons for implementing 2-factor... I don't know if anything is being done to either make it easier to use or find ways to disable it for those that really don't need it.
OMGoosh! Help! This is time-consuming and crazy! Every time we log in on our desktop version of Vagaro it's shooting us a verification code. How do we turn this off ⁉️... I'm not doing any transactions through VGR, I don't need this degree of fraud prevention.
PLEASE VAGARO support, remove this feature or let us choose. EVERY single time we login we have to do the authentication Its time consuming and very frustrating. It should only ask for the code when we login using a different IP address or device. Not on the same device every single day.
How do we set the code to go to a different phone number, without changing the main phone number?
Hi Linny,
Vagaro currently doesn't have that feature for 2-factor authentication. However, you can request this feature to be added in the future.

Thanks,

I realize 2-Factor Authentication is supposed to be every 30 days, but Vagaro thinks that every login (from the SAME computer, browser, and network) is a "new device". I used to only get an email informing me of this which I was willing to put up with. Now, as of this morning, it's 2-factor authentication every time. E gads.
Is there something I can do to get Vagaro to remember my computer/browser/network?
Thanks,
Raoul
Hi Raoul,
Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I created a ticket for you. Somebody from support will contact you shortly.
Thanks,
Jamie
We are experiencing the exact same issue as most above commenting. I realize 2-Factor Authentication is supposed to be every 30 days, but Vagaro thinks that every login (from the SAME computer, browser, and network) is a "new device".
Is there something I can do to get Vagaro to remember my computer/browser/network or pause the 2FA altogether until that's possible? It's impeding our productivity to extreme levels at this point.
I want to disable this feature. It requires it every time from my desktop at my salon and I'm not there every day. My stylists can't get in to book! We don't run payments through vagaro. I'm ready to switch to a different booking program.
So we have the same issue. It prompts us for the code every time. We also want this feature removed.
Same issue here... please, we need to disable this feature.
This is happening tour account ass well please help!
Like others, we do not use Vagaro for transactions - only for scheduling. We DO NOT need this level of security and it is creating a lot of chaos for our business. Honestly, we will probably seek a different platform if this "feature" can't be disabled.
your system getting broken every day. we dont want this feature, why can we have options to turn or off?
I've assigned support tickets for these last two comments on 2-FA. You should hear from them soon.
My staff HATES this and wants a way to turn it off.. really this is the biggest complaint they have for the whole system. We get asked to verify all the time, sometimes multiple times in a day. Is there a way to turn this off? It would be appreciated.
This is a terrible update. Please turn it off or make it accessible to turn off by choice.
Please create a way to turn this feature off. It is more of a hassle than it is a help and very frustrating.
I'm told that, for many security reasons (more than just payment processing), this is here to stay. Please be sure you have the latest version of the app.
This is still a constant issue. Having to do a code EVERY SINGLE TIME we log in or if the app is not prominent. When staff is at the salon and having to call for the code every time it is unnerving. Something needs to change. btw we have the updated version
Hey Christy, the system will require you to verify with a code every time a new device is detected. Does your salon staff have their own employee profile, or are they signing in to the business account? If multiple people are signing in to the same profile, they'll be required to authenticate each time.
Thanks,
Jamie
How can I change this to go to a different email, and not my phone
Hi, Sommer.
The security code is sent to both your phone and your email address at the same time. If you want to change the email address that the code is sent to, update your employee profile with the new email address.
Regards,
Kim.
