I'm getting a 404 error

If you're getting a 404 error like the image below, you may have entered your DNS records incorrectly, or there are conflicting records in your provider's domain settings.

Try the following troubleshooting steps.

Make sure that the DNS records match the values Vagaro provided. Even one small error can affect your domain connection.
If you moved your domain from another website builder, ensure all DNS records not provided by Vagaro are removed from your provider's DNS settings. Having additional records could affect your domain connection. Ignore any DNS records that can't be deleted.
Ensure that you turn off all Domain Forwarding in your provider's settings.
Ensure that you're using your provider's recommended Nameservers.
Disconnect your domain from your MySite Domain settings, delete Vagaro's DNS records in your provider's DNS settings, and reconnect your domain.

Contact your domain provider if your website displays a 404 error that looks different.

My website is not secure

If your website displays "Not Secure," there may be an issue with your domain's SSL Certificate. Contact Vagaro support to resolve this issue.

It's been more than 48 hours, and my domain still shows "Connection in Progress"

There may be an issue with the DNS settings you entered or conflicting records in your provider's domain settings. First, disconnect your domain from your MySite Domain settings, delete Vagaro's DNS records in your provider's DNS settings, and reconnect your domain.

Do I Need to Transfer My Domain to Vagaro MySite?

No, you should not transfer your domain to Vagaro MySite. You only need to enter the DNS values provided by Vagaro into your provider's DNS settings.

Is a domain included with my subscription?

Yes, every MySite has a built-in domain: mysite.vagaro.com/yourbusinessname. If you want to customize this domain, you will need to purchase a new domain or connect a domain from another provider.

Where can I find the link to my website?

You can find your domain in your website settings:

Select MySite .
In the left Design panel, select the Settings tab.
Select Domains. You're Built In Domain will appear along with any Custom Domain(s) you've connected.

Can I purchase a domain through Vagaro?

Yes, you can purchase a domain directly in the MySite web builder.

How long does it take to connect my domain to Vagaro?

You can connect your domain to Vagaro in just a few steps. Once set up, it can take up to 48 hours to update.

Can I connect a domain I already have?

Yes, you can connect as many domains as you want to your MySite. You will be required to log in to your provider and update the DNS settings to connect it to Vagaro.

I purchased a domain from domains.vagaro.com with the old builder. Will it automatically transfer over?

Any domains purchased through a third party or domains.vagaro.com will need to be reconnected to your MySite. The process is simple, and your new domain will be updated within 48 hours.

If you purchased a domain through domains.vagaro.com, you will need to connect that domain from GoDaddy. The credentials you entered for domains.vagaro.com will work for GoDaddy's website.

It says I have to change my DNS settings. What does that mean?

Changing your DNS (Domain Name System) settings is like updating the address book for your website on the internet. To make this change, you typically update the DNS settings at your domain registrar (the company where you originally registered your domain). Connecting a domain involves replacing the old DNS server information with the new DNS server information provided by Vagaro.
