Delete a Customer from Your Customer List

Delete a customer profile if you created a duplicate, no longer need the profile, or a customer asks you to delete their profile from your business.

You can delete profiles one at a time or remove multiple profiles in bulk. If you want to clean up older or duplicate profiles more efficiently, use the Merge & Cleanup Customers report.

Prerequisites: This feature is available for all Vagaro businesses.

Delete a Single Profile

Delete a single customer profile from Customers.

On a Phone

To delete a customer profile:

  1. Go to Customers user-light.png and select a customer.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the screen, then select Delete → Delete Contact.

The customer's profile was deleted. You can repeat the steps above to delete another customer or restore the profile if you made a mistake.

On a Computer, Tablet, Pay Desk, or PayPro

To delete a customer profile:

  1. Go to Customers user-light.png and select a customer.

  2. Select Delete.

  3. Select Delete Customer to confirm.

The customer's profile was deleted. You can repeat the steps above to delete another customer or restore the profile if you made a mistake.

Delete Multiple Profiles at Once

If you have older profiles and want to delete them in bulk, you can do so in your Customer List.

On a Phone

To delete multiple profiles:

  1. Select More This is an icon used to go to the More initial navigation step on the Vagaro website and the Vagaro Pro app. → Reports → Customers.

  2. Optionally, set Filters filters_icon_2x.png for the report to narrow down the list of customers. To learn more about setting filters, see Customer List Report.

  3. Choose the customers you want to delete:

    • To manually select the customers to delete, select the checkbox next to each customer's profile.

    • To choose all customers in the report, select Select All Customers.

      Note

      If you've filtered this report, it'll only choose the customers from the filtered list.

  4. In the top-right corner, select Action Three vertically stacked circles, representing a menu or more options icon. → Delete.

  5. Select Delete to confirm.

The customer's profile was deleted. You can delete more customer profiles or restore them if you made a mistake.

On a Computer, Tablet, Pay Desk, or PayPro

To delete multiple profiles:

  1. Select Reports Decorative solid black rectangle, which is usually an icon for reports or charts. → Customers.

    A list of all your customers will appear.

  2. Optionally, use the filters at the top of the report to narrow down your list of customers. To learn more about setting filters, see Customer List Report.

  3. Choose the customers you want to delete:

    • To manually select the customers to remove, select the checkbox next to each customer's profile.

    • To choose all customers in the report, select the Select All checkbox.

      Note

      If you've filtered this report, it'll only choose the customers from the filtered list.

  4. Select Delete.

The customer's profile was deleted. You can delete more customer profiles or restore them if you made a mistake.

    Hi Angie. If you send us the name of the customer as well as the email address we can merge the clients for you. Just send them to support@vagaro.com.

    Hello Can you delete clients that has not booked a appointment with in a year

    It’s very hard to delete clients by name when you have many but if they have not returned in a year I wish they can automatically be deleted

    Cee: There's no way to automatically delete customers, but the Customer report will let you do what you need: find customers who haven't booked within selected dates and delete them.

    1. Go to Reports > Customers
    2. Open Advanced Filters
    3. Select a date range under Last Visit
      You can set up other search criteria, or just go by date
    4. Run the report
    5. It's easier to view by selecting Grid View
    6. Check the boxes by customers you want to delete or use Select All at the top of the report
    7. Click Delete

    There is an Undo Delete option in case you want to restore deleted customers. You use it by date deleted.

    This article's pictures say you cannot undo a customer delete but then there is also a note that you can restore the customer. Which is it?

    Hi Jamie, I do not think you can individually restore individual customers. You can only bulk restore all customers through a specific date, which defeats the purpose.

    Hi JD,

    Yes, you are correct. Currently, you cannot restore individual customers, only in bulk. I will make this more clear when I update this article. 

    In the meantime, here is a feature request that you can vote for. We appreciate the feedback.

    It seems to be almost impossible to delete a client! I have merged, deleted, deleted, and merged. If I can't have more than one client with the same email address, it should be easier to delete names!!
