IOUs are issued to customers who are unable to pay for a service on the day of the appointment. Once an IOU is created, it is added to a customer's profile and included in all IOU reports so you can collect payment later.
To manage IOUs for a particular customer, start on the Customer Management page.
Navigate to→ .
Select a customer from the drop-down list.
The Customer profile page for the selected customer shows a red box if that customer has an outstanding IOU.
Click the IOU tab to open the customer's IOU page.
Export and Print buttons give you options to print or save the customer's IOU information to an Excel spreadsheet.
Click the Action menu (3 vertical dots) to select an action for this IOU.
Choices are Edit, Void, and Pay.
Use Edit to change the IOU comment and save it.
Use Void to cancel the IOU.
You'll be asked to enter a reason for voiding the IOU.
Select Pay to have the customer pay off the IOU.
On the Checkout screen, process payment for the IOU and complete the checkout process.
Click Done on the Successful Checkout pop-up message.
The IOU now shows as Paid on the customer's Profile/IOU page and the IOU Report.
No... to return a product bought with an IOU to inventory, you must refund the IOU transaction from the Transaction list. In that process, there's a "return to stock" option for the product, which also voids the IOU.
does voiding an IOU also void the item it "paid for"?
