Checking out your clients is now safer than ever! Vagaro’s new COVID-Clean Checkout allows you to send the checkout experience, including viewing the charge total, tipping, and signing the transaction, directly to your client’s mobile device.
The feature helps reduce physical contact with business devices while providing the client with a seamless, professional checkout experience. You can send a checkout screen to the client’s mobile device in two ways:
1) Send a link to the client's device by text message or email.
2) Have the client scan a QR code that will automatically open the checkout page on their device.
How to Send the COVID-Clean Checkout Screen to Your Client’s Device
1. On the Checkout screen, select your customer and enter in the product, service, or class you are going to collect payment for.
2. Click on Add to enter in a credit card manually or click Pay With Card to charge their card using the EMV Reader. Then swipe or dip the client’s card.
3. A pop-up window will appear. Select: Send COVID-Clean Checkout or Checkout on This Device.
If you choose Checkout on This Device, you will proceed with Checkout as you normally would. If you select COVID-Clean Checkout follow the instructions below.
4. On the next window, you can send a checkout screen to the client’s mobile device in two ways:
Option 1 - Send a link to the client's device by text message or email.
Option 2 - Have the client scan a QR code that will automatically open the checkout page on their device.
Option 1 - Send a Link to the Client's Device by Text Message or Email
A. Once you have entered the phone number and email address, click Send to Customer to send the final checkout steps to the client’s mobile device.
B. The checkout will be completed from the client’s device. They will need to tap the link on the notification they receive to be directed to a web page where they can complete the checkout.
C. After clicking the link in their email or text message, the client will be sent to finish the checkout by tipping and signing from their own device.
D. On the checkout page they will click Add Tip to select their tip amount, and if there are multiple service providers, they can also choose to split the tip.
E. After the client has selected their tip amount, they will click Next and will be asked to sign using their finger. Once they have completed their signature, the customer will select Charge Card. At this point, the client can leave a review for your business.
F. On your screen, you will see that the checkout was successful, and you can select which type of receipt the customer would like, just like in any normal transaction.
G. You can choose to rebook the client for another appointment, go to the Calendar, or press the X to close the pop-up.
Option 2 - How to Checkout Using a QR Code
Follow Steps 1-4 in the previous section.
H. After clicking “Send COVID-Clean Checkout”, a pop-up with a scannable QR code will appear. The client can scan the QR code from your mobile, tablet, or desktop device using their phone’s camera.
I. A message will appear at the top of the screen with a clickable link that will take clients directly to a secure web page to finish the checkout on their own device.
J. Follow previous steps C-G just as in Option 1 to complete the checkout process.
