A Personal Task allows you to schedule time off for sick days, vacations, holidays, lunch breaks, special meetings, or tasks. etc. You can disable online booking during the period a personal task is set and create recurring tasks, repeating them daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly.
Watch the video or follow the steps below to book a personal task.
When adding a Personal Task, remember the following:

A personal task appointment block that is brown means that customers will not be able to book online during that period

Beige means that online booking is allowed

Click Calendar.

Select a day and time for the personal task. Then click Personal Task.

Click the drop-down under Personal Task to select the task type.

Select Block Online Booking if you do not want to allow customers to book online during the personal task. Deselect the option if you want clients to book online.

Click Full Day Off to schedule the entire day.
If not taking the full day, select from and to times.

Under Add Comment, you can add a comment to the task.

To create a recurring task, select daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly.

Choose a day of the week, day of the month, or month and day of the year for the repeat.

For Weekly, choose a repeat frequency in weeks.

Check No End Date or enter an end date for the repeating task.

Click Book to finish.

The task is on the calendar, where you can click it to edit or delete it.

The circular arrow indicates a repeating task

If the task is beige on the calendar, booking is allowed for this period

If the task is brown on the calendar with the hand icon, booking is blocked for this period

When you edit a Personal Task, you can access the history of the task by clicking the History button:

Under Personal Task History, you can see the person who created the task and the date and time it was created. Below this, you can also see the following:

The date and time of the task (Appointment Date)

The duration of the task (Duration)
-
Book Online? - is online booking blocked or not

The comment that was added to the task (Comment)
-
Who booked the task (Service Provider)
-
Who last edited the task (Modified By)
-
The date and time it was modified (Modified Date)

Action shows what was changed

This is only good for blocking times out of your day. If it's a holiday that you have to close the business for or need to close the business on a specific day, then it confuses clients because they think you're open for business and it just shows that you're "busy". It would be nice if it can actually show that you're closed and have those dates greyed out on the calendar and make them unclickable so clients can see that you're really closed on that day.

Currently, Vagaro does not have that functionality; however, you can add a comment to a personal task.
Once saved, your comment will appear on the personal task.

You can describe the exact personal task you or your team has. I have also submitted this comment as a feature request and let our product team know.

I am also here to make the same statement as Elle Marke. I have clients adding themselves to the wait list on days that I am no open and the calendar shows that I am open on Thanksgiving. It is confusing for customers.
