Customer tipping is setup in the Checkout screen. Here, you can configure your tip settings, select your custom tip amounts, and add a tip to a transaction. Your Checkout Settings are saved to your device, not the business. If multiple service providers work at your business, they can all have different checkout settings.
Important
This setting requires a device with a touchscreen.
This setting prompts the customer to select a tip at checkout. If you don't toggle this setting on, the customer must manually fill out a tip receipt.
Prerequisites: This feature is available for all Vagaro businesses.
To configure your tip settings:

Go to Checkout.

Open the Checkout Settings:

Vagaro Pro App: In the top-right corner, select the Gear icon.

Web Version: In the bottom-right corner of the screen, select the down arrow button, then select Checkout Settings.

Select up to five Tipping Options that customers can choose from.
Tip
Select Don't Ask for Tip if you don't want to prompt customers to add a tip.

Optionally, to prompt customers to sign a receipt for large purchases, toggle Require Digital Signature, then enter an amount for Require signature for transactions greater than.

Select Save.
To manually add a tip:

Go to Checkout or check out an appointment from the Calendar.

Ensure you have a customer selected and that their shopping cart is ready for checkout.

Select "$0.00" next to the Tip field.

Enter a tip amount or select from one of the percentages. The Tip field will automatically update.
Note
There is no option to set a percent-based tip on a phone.

Enter payment for the transaction, then select Checkout.
To add a tip for card payments:

Go to Checkout or check out an appointment from the Calendar.

Ensure you have a customer selected and that their shopping cart is ready for checkout.

Charge the customer's credit or debit card. A tip and signature popup will display.

If applicable, ask the customer to sign the transaction and select from the preset tip options.

Complete the transaction.
To add a tip for card payments:

Go to Checkout or check out an appointment from the Calendar.

Ensure you have a customer selected and that their shopping cart is ready for checkout.

Process payment through a card on file or with a credit card reader. The Print Receipt popup will display after processing the card.

In the popup, select Print Tip Receipt.
Important
This is a receipt for the merchant for documentation purposes. Do not navigate away from this page; this will cancel the transaction, and no payment will be collected.

Have the customer write in a tip amount and sign the merchant copy of the receipt.

Enter the written tip amount in the Customer Checkout popup. You can either select one of the pre-determined tip percentages or enter a Custom tip.

Select Charge Card to finalize payment.

After the update Vagaro did, my customers are now forced to leave a tip. I run a swim school and require full payment upon booking. Tipping is not as common as it is in a salon. Regardless, customers should not be forced to leave a tip to complete the registration process. There is no option for them to opt-out of leaving one and the only workaround is to turn the tipping option off completely.

It would be great if there was an option to tip and if there was also an option that says no tip on the same screen
Even when the above steps are completed, it does not ask about tipping when a package is purchased or redeemed.
