Receipts play a pivotal role in the business environment, serving various purposes for both the business and its customers. The customer receives proof of purchase, allowing for refunds and preventing fraud, and receipts can be useful to verify your Vagaro reports.
Prerequisites: This feature is available for all Vagaro businesses.
Make sure that you first configure your receipt settings before checking out customers.
Tip
Checkout Settings is saved to the device, not to the business. So, every device that you have at your business can have different checkout settings.
To set your receipt settings:
-
Go to the Checkout screen.
-
Access the Checkout Settings:
-
On a Phone: In the top-right corner, select the Gear
icon.
-
On the Web, Tablet, or Paydesk: In the bottom-right corner of the screen, select the Down Arrow (V) menu, then select Checkout Settings.
-
-
To set a receipt type, select Print and/or Email. You can also select Ask at checkout if you want to choose the receipt type after a transaction is processed.
-
Select Save.
You can configure your receipts to print to a Vagaro Printer. To learn more, see the following articles:
After configuring your receipt settings, you can print or email receipts at checkout. You can also view receipts of older transactions as well.
After checking out a customer, a Successful Checkout/Transaction Complete screen will display. What you see depends on your receipt settings:
-
Ask at Checkout: You'll have the option to Print, Email, Both (Mobile Only), or no receipt. If you decide to print a receipt, select Print to automatically print to the last printer used or select the Down-Arrow (V) menu to select or add a Vagaro Receipt Printer.
-
Print: You'll have the option to print or not print a receipt. If you have a Vagaro Receipt Printer, selecting Print will automatically use the receipt printer you last used. Otherwise, select the Down-Arrow (V) menu to select or add a printer.
-
Email: If the customer has an email attached to their profile, they'll automatically receive an email with their receipt. If there is no email attached, you can enter the customer's email.
See the following articles to learn how to use the Transaction List and how to print a receipt from the report:
After configuring the required settings above, you can now print a tip receipt when checking out a customer. Keep in mind that you can only print a tip receipt on a computer for credit card transactions. The written tip amount on the receipt needs to be manually entered on the Checkout screen afterward.
To print a tip receipt:
-
Add a customer and items to the Checkout screen.
-
Begin Processing payment through a card on file or with a credit card reader.
-
After taking the customer's credit card, a pop-up will display asking to print a tip receipt. Select Print Tip Receipt to print the receipt to the Vagaro Receipt Printer or your personal printer.
Important
This is a receipt for the merchant for documentation purposes. Do not navigate away from this page, as this will cancel the transaction, and no payment will be collected.
-
The customer can write in a tip amount and sign the merchant copy of the receipt. After filling out the tip receipt, the customer should give back the receipt to you.
-
Enter the written tip amount in the tip pop-up. You can either select one of the pre-determined tip percentages or enter a custom tip amount in Custom.
-
Select Charge Card to finalize payment.
After charging the customer's card, depending on your Checkout Settings, you can Print or Email a customer receipt.
