To ensure that your credit card reader and PayPro Mini function correctly, the system will update your utility and reader firmware from time to time. A popup will display when it's time to update.
Prerequisites: This feature requires that your credit card (EMV) reader or a PayPro Mini.
You downloaded the Vagaro Pro Utility when you first paired the credit card reader or PayPro Mini. The utility is essential to ensure your device works correctly and will require updates from time-to-time. The system will display a popup from the Checkout screen when an update is needed. You must update your utility to continue charging credit cards.

Before following the steps below, make sure that you've opened the utility on your device.

To update the utility:

Unplug the Vagaro credit card reader or PayPro mini from your device if you haven't already.

Go to the Checkout screen.

In the bottom-right corner, select Connect, then select PayPro Mini or EMV Reader. A popup will display, asking you to update the Vagaro Pro utility. If a popup does not display, you're up-to-date.

In the popup, select Download or Update Utility. The file will be downloaded to your computer.

Open the file in your downloads to install the updated utility. Once installed, your utility will be updated, and you can pair your device and continue accepting credit cards.
Firmware updates keep your EMV reader compatible and current with new security updates.
Prerequisites: This feature requires that your credit card (EMV) reader has been paired with your Vagaro account in the Vagaro Pro app or on the Web.
Note
Make sure to update your app to the latest version from the Apple or Google Play stores.
To update your credit card reader in the Vagaro Pro app:

Select an EMV reader assigned to your business and connect it. If you haven't paired a reader yet, see here.

If a firmware update is required, the Install Now button will display. Select Install Now.

You'll be able to see the progress of the installation. Once installed, reconnect to your credit card reader.
Updating the credit card reader on the web is performed on a computer using the Vagaro Pro utility.
To update your credit card reader with the Vagaro Pro utility:

Plug your credit card reader into your computer.

Open the Vagaro Pro utility.

Go to the Checkout screen.

When the New Firmware Available pop-up displays, select Ready to Install.

You'll be able to see the progress of the installation. Once installed, reconnect to your credit card reader.
Additional tips to try if you're having trouble installing the update:

Reset the EMV reader to factory settings by turning on the reader and sticking a paper clip into the pinhole next to the reader's charging port for 10 seconds.

Unpair your reader with the current device, pair it with another device, and then try to install the update.

On the Vagaro Pro App:

Make sure that Vagaro Pro is up-to-date.

In the Checkout screen, select the Checkout button again to clear the shopping cart, and then try installing again.

Unpair the reader from your phone or tablet, connect it (via USB cable) to Vagaro on your computer, and try again.

On a Computer:

Quit and reopen the Vagaro Pro utility and try again.

In the Checkout screen, select the browser's Refresh button, and then try again.

If you are using a dock for the EMV reader, remove the dock, connect the EMV reader directly to your computer, and try again.

Unpair the reader from the computer, pair the reader with a mobile device (phone or tablet), and try to install the update.
