If you need to correct your 1099 tax form, you will need to fill out a W-9 form with your updated information. Any corrections to your 1099-K can only be made for mismatches in Legal Business Name and Tax Identification Number (TIN).
Important
Refer to the B Notice you received for information on the correction deadline. Unless your business has a B1 notice on your merchant account, we can no longer accept Form W-9 for the current tax year after June 30 to update your Form 1099. For corrections to 1099s for the current and prior tax years, you will need to consult with a tax specialist for guidance.
To update your 1099-K:
-
Fill out the form with the correct information.
-
Include your Merchant ID at the top of the Form (MID # XXXXXX). You can find your Merchant ID in your Merchant Account.
-
Make sure you sign and date the form.
-
Email the form to support@vagaro.com with the subject "1099-K Correction."
If you have an Employer Identification Number (EIN) and don't know your official business name registered with the IRS, call the IRS directly at the number below, give them your EIN, and tell them you need the official spelling of your business name registered so you can fill out your W-9 form for merchant services.
