When customers have collected a specific point total that you've set by purchasing items at your business, referring customers, or submitting reviews, they can use those points to get desired items for free.
Optionally, you can allow customers to redeem partial points for services, classes, and products if they don't have enough points to fully cover the amount, and let them pay the remainder with an alternative payment method. By toggling Allow Partial Point Redemption in the Taxes & Checkout & Checkout screen, Vagaro will automatically calculate the percentage of missing points and then show how much money is still owed based on the cost of the purchase.
For example, if a service costs $45 or 30 points to redeem but you have only 25 points, which is 83% of the points needed, you will still owe 17% of the cost of the service, which amounts to $7.65.
Note
Customers can earn points for service bundles, memberships, and packages, but they cannot redeem points to purchase them. Points cannot be earned or redeemed for Daily Deals.
Prerequisites: Ensure you've assigned point values to your services, classes, products, memberships, and/or packages in your menu.

Why does the system automatically apply the points at checkout? Why isn’t there a toggle switch to default this to NOT APPLY THE POINTS AT CHECKOUT??? Fix this.
There needs to be rewards for clients referring us new clients and it needs to be automatically tracked and rewarded from their profile under "referred by".
Hi Lee,
Points are only assigned to a Client once their Appointment has been checked out and marked as Service Completed. Clients do not receive Points when an Appointment is booked, regardless of who booked the Appointment.
Rewards need either an expiration date or a way to cash out (gift card, coupon, etc). Also, accumulative points should be able to be used towards a service or product, not just to redeem a full service. I'd also like to see referral points auto-tracked. Vagaro has no system in place to encourage, track or incentivize referrals.
Thx
Sorry, but there is currently no way to do that. Unused points stay in the customer's account until redeemed.
Can you add an expiration date to points where they expire if they aren't used by a certain date?
Points earned can be used for anything: services or products, no matter how they were accumulated. Unused points stay in the customer's account until redeemed.
If you have points assigned to be redeemed for services and products, can the client only use the points gained by services on services, and on retail only on retail?
Once the points are used in either manner, what happens to the unused portion? Do they have an expiration date?
I don't understand why I can't apply points to a product or service unless the customer has enough to get it for free. If the client has enough points to redeem part of the cost of that product or service, they should be able to use them. For example, say the client is buying something for $100, if they have $20 worth of points, they should be able to use that!
Are points only given when clients book their own appointments via the customer app or are they also given when booked by me? Also, are the points given at time of booking or after completing service?
Hi Raquel. The point system is a free service. The daily deals feature is included in the email marketing quota. You can send up to 1,000 marketing emails for free per month, but once you go over this amount, there are different monthly payment plans, depending on the number of emails you want to send per month. is the point system and daily deals a free service included in our subscription?
Hi Valerie. It looks like the price of that product is $0. I'd advise setting a price for the product so that you can use points to redeem it. Please let me know if this helps.
I cannot get the system to allow points to be redeemed for product. Thoughts?
Hi Brandon. Sorry to hear about this. When you get a chance, please email support@vagaro.com so one of our engineers can see exactly what's going on. In the meantime, I'd advise going back to the service on the Service/Class Menu and double-checking that you added a points value in the Points Given and Points Redeemed fields for that service or item.
I have had my point system set up and working for a while, but today it went back to saying "points usage should be greater than zero". My client has enough points, and I have points setup to redeem on the service, just not sure why it is glitching now.
Hi Melinda. I will send your feedback to the management team. In the meantime, if you do not want to use points, you can click the box that corresponds to the item under Use Pts.
