Taxes and Checkout
Click this link to go to the Taxes and Checkout settings https://www.vagaro.com/ShopOwner/GeneralSettings.aspx?
At the top of the screen, you can enter up to 4 different tax rates. These can be taxes that are charged on anything from services to products.
If you have set up a point system in Vagaro, you can give customers additional points for writing a review after they have completed a service with you. If you'd like to know more about setting up points, please visit the forum Setup Point Rewards for Services and Products.
The next option Require starting balance for cash drawer will allow you to balance your cash drawer at the end of each day. The first person to checkout a customer each day will be asked for the current drawer balance. Then on the Transaction List, it will list how much was received in Cash, how much was given out for refunds, and finally how much is left in the cash drawer.
The second box should be checked if you want the ability to checkout future appointments. For example a customer coming in on Monday wants to pay for her daughter’s Up-Do and Makeup appointment for her Prom on Friday. This will allow you to checkout the appointment in advance of the daughter coming in
The third box sets the default expiration period for online gift certificates. Please refer to Gift Certificates - State Regulations for Automatic Expiration Periods for each state's regulations on automatic expiration of gift certificates.
By checking this fourth and final box, the cost of the product will display on the checkout screen along with your sales price. If your customer is able to look at your screen, tablet, or phone, you DO NOT want to select this option. This should only be checked if your customers will not see the checkout screen, otherwise they will know how much you markup your prices.
