This section allows you to set if and when a customer can cancel or reschedule an appointment, how far in advance can they schedule/book a new appointment, how many available appointments appear on your website, and if all appointments should be automatically accepted or should some / all require acceptance by you. Although we do not have the ability to block a specific customer from booking online (because the customer can create new Vagaro accounts), this feature will still control who can book with you online or not. (This is similar to flagging or blocking a customer.) Our online appointment rules do not allow you to block a client or customer, but they can serve the same purpose.
Note: When setting Appointments search limit, this is asking you how many appointments for that day do you want to show are available. Some people don't want it to appear they are not busy and mistakenly set this to a low number like 3 or 4. What this does is prevents your clients from booking at a time that is convenient for them. Example: You start at 8:00 a.m. and take appointments every 30 minutes. A search limit of 4 would only show appointments at 8:00, 8:30, 9:00, and 9:30. Therefore a client who can only come after work at 6:00 p.m. will never see an opening unless all of the other times are already scheduled. So this setting is always best to leave at the default setting.
Please also note: The system currently is only able to require a credit card capture at this time. It will not automatically take a deposit or charge customers. However, we are bringing this function in, and it is estimated to be ready soon. To turn on the credit card capture function, you need to set up a Vagaro Merchant Services account. In the meantime, go to Settings - Settings -> Online Appointment Rules to set up your Online Booking Rules.

You will also notice below that your customers can reschedule themselves online. If your customers are rescheduling their appointments with short notice, you can adjust how many hours prior to the appointment to allow for rescheduling.
