In your Site Settings, you can change your general settings, purchase domains, change the style of your website, set editor preferences, or update your global site stylings. Before publishing your website to your customers, you should go through these settings to ensure your website is ready for release.
Prerequisites: This feature requires a MySite subscription and the web, tablet, or Pay Desk version of Vagaro. To set up your first website, see Getting Started with Vagaro MySite.
The settings you change and modify depends on your business's needs and preferences:
Control the Favicon, Webclip, and analytics of your website from your General settings.
To configure your general settings:
-
Select the Marketing tab, then select View Site to go to the MySite editor.
-
In the left design panel, select the Settings
tab.
-
Select General.
-
Configure your site's general settings:
-
Favicon: The icon displayed on browser tabs when customers load your site. If no Favicon is added, the default MySite logo will be used. We recommend that businesses upload a minimalist logo of their logo.
-
Webclip: An icon to be shown when a customer saves your webpage to their iPhone's home screen or when sharing a link. We recommend that businesses upload a square image with a resolution of 256 x 256 pixels.
-
Google Analytics ID: Enter the ID provided by Google Analytics to track clicks and traffic to your website.
-
Head Code: Controls the <head> tag at the beginning of your website. If the analytics software you're using requires changes to your website's code, enter the script in this field.
-
Footer Code: Controls the <footer> tag at the end of your website. If the analytics software you're using requires changes to the code of your website, enter the script in this field.
-
-
Select Save.
-
Preview and publish the changes to your live website:
-
To Preview: In the top-right corner, open the Publish menu, then select Preview.
-
To Publish: In the same Publish menu, select Publish.
-
Having a custom domain for your website can help keep your site unique and build a recognizable brand. Vagaro provides a free, built-in domain to get started. However, you can also purchase and connect your MySite website to a new domain from another provider or your existing domain. See here to learn more on how to purchase and connect a domain to your site.
If the style or theme you first selected doesn't quite fit your needs, you can change to a new theme.
To change your website's style:
-
Select the Marketing tab, then select View Site to go to the MySite editor.
-
In the left design panel, select the Settings
tab.
-
Select Change Style.
-
View all the different styles available. To select a style, hover over it, then select Change Style.
-
To find a style, select a business type at the top, like Hair Salon, Spa, or Nail Salon.
-
To see what other Vagaro users use, open the Sort menu and select Most Popular.
-
-
Select the Pages
tab to view changes.
-
Preview and publish the changes to your live website:
-
To Preview: In the top-right corner, open the Publish menu, then select Preview.
-
To Publish: In the same Publish menu, select Publish.
-
Changing the style will only affect font styles and buttons. It will not change the layout or any components you've edited. If you want to change everything, you will need to start from scratch.
Editor preferences allow you to control how the MySite Editor functions; it won't affect how your website looks.
Note
Editor preferences apply per device. Each user on a different device can set their own preferences.
To configure editor preferences:
-
Select the Marketing tab, then select View Site to go to the MySite editor.
-
In the left design panel, select the Settings
tab.
-
Select Editor Preferences.
-
Configure your MySite preferences:
-
Auto Save: Whether your website will automatically save based on the Auto Save Every time period that you set. Turn this setting off if you would prefer to manually save your changes.
-
Automatically Hide Component Menu: Whether to automatically open the right-side style panel whenever you select a component on your webpage.
-
Show New Section Buttons: Whether to display or remove the + buttons between page sections.
-
Reduced Motion: Whether to disable animations in the MySite editor. Turn this setting on if you notice any performance issues with the editor.
-
Editor Color Theme: Sets a color theme for the website builder. It does not affect what customers see on your website.
-
-
Preview and publish the changes to your live website:
-
To Preview: In the top-right corner, open the Publish menu, then select Preview.
-
To Publish: In the same Publish menu, select Publish.
-
While the styles provided by MySite are a great starting point, building and customizing your website specifically for your business can help make your website even better with global site styling.
