How to Split Payments

At Vagaro, your business is able to accept various payment methods such as Vagaro Pay Later, invoices, cash, credit cards, and more. In the event that your customers want to split their payment between multiple methods, rest assured that everything from the payment methods to the exact split amount will be reported internally and won't have any effect on any reporting. Vagaro makes it easy for you to split transactions, report and check out customers, so you can focus on running your business smoothly.

Split a Transaction Between with Credit Card and Cash

Within Vagaro, you can split a customer's payment between credit card and cash.

Mobile Devices

  1. Open the Vagaro Pro app and begin the checkout process.

  2. Enter the split amount next to Cash.

  3. Enter the remaining balance next to Credit Card.

  4. Tap Checkout to charge a card on file or click Pay with Card to pay via credit card reader.

Web, Tablet, and Pay Desk

  1. Log in to Vagaro and being the checkout process

  2. At the right side of the screen, enter the split amount for Cash.

  3. Pay the remaining balance with a card on file or click Pay with Card to pay via credit card reader.

  4. Click Checkout to finalize payment.

Split a Transaction with a Gift Card/Gift Certificate

Within Vagaro, customers can split their purchase with a gift certificate and other forms of payment, like cash or check.

Mobile Devices

  1. Open the Vagaro Pro app and begin the checkout process.

  2. Next to Gift Certificates, tap Add.

  3. Select the Gift Certificate you want to use.

  4. Under Use Amount, enter the split amount, then tap Done.

  5. Pay the remaining balance with another payment method.

  6. Click Checkout to finalize payment.

Web, Tablet, and Pay Desk

  1. Log in to Vagaro and being the checkout process.

  2. At the right side of the screen, click Add next to Gift Certificate.

  3. Select the Gift Certificate you want to use.

  4. Under How much to use? enter the split amount, then click Redeem GC.

  5. Pay the remaining balance with another payment method.

  6. Click Checkout to finalize payment.

Split a Transaction Between Multiple Payment Methods

Follow the steps below if you want to split a transaction between multiple payment methods (not a credit card or gift card).

Mobile Devices

  1. Open the Vagaro Pro app and begin the checkout process.

  2. Under Amount Due, enter split amounts for payment methods, like cash, check, etc., until the remaining balance is $0.00.

  3. Click Checkout to finalize payment.

Web, Tablet, and Pay Desk

  1. Login to Vagaro and begin the checkout process.

  2. At the right side of the screen, enter the split amount for the payment methods, like cash, check, etc., until the remaining Amount Due is $0.00.

  3. Click Checkout to finalize payment.
