How to Put a Credit Card on File For Your Customers

Vagaro has the ability to hold credit card information on file for a customer. This process makes checking out customers easier and faster. It also allows you to charge for no-shows or cancellations.

Below will show you all three ways to set that up in Vagaro. 
Note: To put credit cards on file you must have a Vagaro Merchant Services account open.

Adding Credit Card While Booking a New Appointment

1. From the calendar screen click a box, and from the drop down menu create a New Appointment.

2. Set up the service information and select the customer.

3. Under the customer's name click Credit Card.

4. You can enter in Credit Cards two ways here. You can type it in or swipe.
Note: Any card added to a profile will be charged the keyed-in transaction rate per use.

5. To type in, you need to enter in the Card Number, Exportation Date, CVV code, and Billing Zip code. Lastly, enter in the First Name, Middle Initial, and Last Name on the card. When you’re finished click Add.

6. To swipe in a card, make sure you have your USB Swiper is connected to your computer. When the card is swiped, the Credit Card number and cardholder's name will be encrypted and entered into the top bar. next you will need to manually enter the CVV code and the Billing Zip code. When you’re finished click Add.

7. When you Book the appointment, the card will be added to the customer's account.

Adding Credit Card through Customer Management

1. To access the customer management screen, hover over Customers from the top bar and click Customer Management.

2. Click in the box that says Select Customer/Phone, and select the customer's name of the card you want to add. Next click Credit Card on the right.

3. You can enter in Credit Cards two ways here. You can type it in or swipe.

Adding Credit Card Through Checkout

1. When checking out, click Credit Card Info from the right-hand side.

2. In this pop-up, enter in all the card information. At the bottom, you can then toggle the switch to Save card on file. If this is switched on, when you click Add the card will be added to the customer's profile.
Note: Any card added to a profile will be charged the keyed-in transaction rate per use.
